This is a lamp inspired after a bacteriophage. The bulk of this project is 3D printed, including flexible filament (TPU) featured here as the blue bits. The head of the bacteriophage, the lamp shade, is printed from glow-in-the-dark PLA in 3 pieces and held together with TPU fittings. The stem is composed of a wooden pole surrounded by the same pink PLA that the legs are printed with. The base of the stem is held together by screws. The wooden pole contains a hole through the length, for the lamp cord. The lamp cord was separated, shielded with paracord, and twisted to model the look of a double-helix.
